Let the Battle begin: Guerrilla Bob
Chillingo heeft vandaag hun nieuwe pareltje Guerrilla Bob gelanceerd. De game is verkrijgbaar in de App store voor € 2,39 en was volgens Chillingo de snelst goedkeurde app, maar dit terzijde. Guerrilla Bob is een echte survival shooter waarbij je het moet opnemen tegen verschillende soorten vijanden.Na enkele minuten spelen voelde de game hetzelfde aan als Minigore alleen speel je niet met John Gore maar met Bob. Zowel de besturing als de omgeving en enigzins de gameplay voelde hetzelfde aan. Als Guerilla Bob dezelfde resultaten gaat opleveren als Minigore dan heeft Chillingo echt een pareltje ontwikkeld. In tegenstelling tot Minigore speel je in Guerrilla Bob door de verschillende levels en is het goed ten einde brengen van de verschillende levels het doel van de game. De levels zijn vrij “wild wild west” opgezet en speel je veel in woestijngebieden.
De besturing werkt via twee pads. Een pad om Bob te besturen en de andere pad om je vijanden het leven zuur te maken (knallen dus). Onderweg kun je allerlei items oppakken zoals medicijnen, speed-ups en nieuwe wapens.
Op de blog van Guerilla Bob is al te lezen dat er in een van de toekomstige updates van Guerrilla Bob een bezoek gaat komen van John Gore (hoofdrolspeler in de game Minigore). Buiten dat dit voor de speler ontzettend gaaf is, bouwt Chillingo hier ook door op het succes van Minigore (lees meer op: http://guerrillabob.blogspot.com/).
De leuke level designs, de characters, en verwachtte dynamiek zal er waarschijnlijk voor gaan zorgen dat Guerrilla Bob een groot succes gaat worden.
