Review: FIFA Manager 10
Ben jij iemand die liever langs de lijn staat dan op het veld? Dan kan het handig zijn als je blijft lezen. EA gaat op zeer korte termijn de mobiele versie van FIFA Manager 2010 lanceren.
FIFA Manager 2010 is een van de bekendste voetbal management games voor o.a. mobiel (als het niet de bekendste is). Ook in FIFA Manager 10 is het wederom de bedoeling dat je in de rol kruipt van de voetbalclub manager /coach om jouw club naar de top te brengen.
De personen die al vaker een FIFA Manager release hebben gespeeld; weten dat FIFA Manager games niet in de categorie pick-up-and-play vallen maar wel degelijk tijd van je vragen.
In FIFA Manager 10 heb je tal van mogelijkheden. Zo kun je een club kiezen uit een tal van leagues (Premier League, Ligue 1 & 2, Bundesliga etc) en kun je spelers wegkopen bij andere top clubs. Nadat je je favoriete club uit een bepaalde league hebt gekozen kom je terecht in een soort van management keuze menu. Hier heb je de mogelijkheid om de kansen op winnen naar jouw hand te zetten. Je kunt o.a. de formatie van je team bepalen, transfers inregelen, trainingsprogramma’s opzetten en je boekhouding bekijken. Voordat je een wedstrijd start kun je dus op verschillende facetten je spel gaan “tweaken”; en dan maar hopen op een positief resultaat. Per speler zijn er uitgebreide statistieken te bekijken: moraal, fitheid en positie zijn hier voorbeelden van. Op basis van deze statistieken kun je de beste spelers in je opstelling zetten. Leuk aan FIFA Manager 10 is dat niet alle opties en “tweak” mogelijkheden direct met de wedstrijd te maken hebben. Zo krijg je met enige regelmaat berichten van je directie en kun je via het nieuws-kanaal kijken of fans nog altijd tevreden zijn. Deze opties maken de game aanzienlijk realistischer omdat dit dynamieken zijn die alledaags zijn voor een clubmanager.
Als je klaar bent kun je de wedstrijden starten. Een wedstrijd duurt 90 seconden en geeft je de mogelijkheid om spelers te wisselen, stats te bekijken, en bijvoorbeeld de formatie van je elftal te veranderen. Ondanks dat het in FIFA Manager 10 niet draait om het spelen van de wedstrijd is door EA hier toch veel aandacht aan besteedt. Als de wedstrijd toch niet zo verloopt als je had gehoopt kun je hier en daar je spel nog wat gaan beinvloeden. Zo kun je tussen de eerste en tweede helft critiek, aanmoedigingen of complimenten uitspreken naar je spelers. Ook kun je je elftal vragen om aggresiever te spelen (hard tackling 
).
Visueel is het best aardig om naar de wedstrijden te kijken, textuele voortgang worden afgewisseld met wedstrijdscene’s. Daarnaast zie je aan welke kant van het speelveld de bal zich bevindt.
Een minpunt aan FIFA Manager 10 is dat er geen Nederlandse clubs beschikbaar zijn. Je bent dus toegewezen aan clubs uit bijvoorbeeld Engeland, Frankrijk, Duitsland en Italië. Persoonlijk ervaarde ik dit niet als heel vervelend gezien veel Nederlandse spelers in buitlandse leagues spelen. Ik heb dus gelijk bij de directie een aantal transfers aangevraagd (om van Persie weg te halen bij Arsenal).
FIFA Manager 10 is wat je er van verwacht. Als jij meer een Louis van Gaal bent i.p.v. een Ruud van Nistelrooy dan kan FIFA Manager 10 een leuke mobiele game zijn.
