Review: Alice in Wonderland
Disney heeft afgelopen week de demo van Alice in Wonderland uitgebracht voor de Iphone/ Ipod Touch. Helaas is de uitwerking van de game stukke minder dan wat we gewend zijn van het werk van Tim Burton. De game is uiteraard niet gemaakt door Tim Burton; maar de films van Tim Burton (dus ook Alice in Wonderland) zijn vaak een regelrecht een succes.Iedereen kent natuurlijk het kinderboek Alice in Wonderland ooit geschreven door Lewis Caroll dat al terug gaat naar 1865. Disney heeft al eerder de tekenfilm uitgebracht maar gaat binnenkort de Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland uitbrengen en dan afgelopen week de bijbehorende Iphone game.
Alice in Wonderland is een puzzel platform game, je speelt met Alice en ontmoet gedurende je reis door Wonderland alle bekende personages zoals Mad Hatter, Cheshire cat en White Rabbit. Alice kan haar vrienden in bepaalde levels gebruiken om verder te komen. Zo kun je White Rabbit gebruiken om de tijd stil te zetten waardoor je bepaalde opstakels kunt vermijden. In de game zitten ook een paar leuke facetten zo kun je door spiegels springen en worden de levels in spiegelbeeld weergegeven.
De volledige versie van de game is nog niet beschikbaar, deze wordt verwacht op 23 februari. De gratis demo versie met 2 levels is sinds vorige week beschikbaar in de app store. De graphics van Alice in Wonderland zien er vrij goed uit de gameplay is echter minder goed uitgewerkt. Zo springt Alice erg houterig waardoor de game verre van realistisch uitziet. Het geeft mij persoonlijk het gevoel van een oude commedore of Atari game.
We moeten nog even wachten op de full-version van Alice in Wonderland, maar op basis van de demo denk ik niet dat deze game het even ver gaat schoppen als de film release.
